Ruchi GuptaAICC Secretary & National in-charge of NSUI
Ruchi Gupta was associated with transparency and right to work movements for many years before joining the Congress Party. During that time, she also worked with the National Advisory Council, the advisory body chaired by the Congress President to make recommendations on social policy to the UPA Govt. She is the founding trustee of “Dialogue for Democracy”, a platform for students to deliberate on topical issues through conversations with leading academics, activists and other public intellectuals. Prior to returning to India, Ruchi was a consultant with McKinsey & Co in New York City. She has written extensively on issues of democracy, development and state accountability in all the national dailies.
Hailing from the Ramban district of Jammu & Kashmir, Fairoz Khan comes from a middle class and non-political family. Fairoz is currently a post-graduate student specializing in Human Rights and Duties and has had an exceptional academic track record. He has completed his BSc, LLB & MA in Political Science. Fairoz has been a student activist since the last 11 years, after he was first elected in 2006 as his College President. Since then, he has served the organization at many levels such as district Vice President, State Executive member, National Secretary & National General Secretary. Fairoz came to limelight for his exceptional contribution to the organization in establishing NSUI in Kashmir and Ladakh. He also left a mark with his role in organizing effective agitations in his in-charge states and ensuring fulfilment of demands of students. Highlights of his political career would be – establishment of mobile schools in former Doda district, extraordinary work during the Kashmir floods, he lead the fight against TRS Government for non-release of fee reimbursement.
